The Brekkuskógur Cottages designed by Arkibullan Architects, for the BHM Icelandic Academic Association are situated 90 minutes' drive from Reykjavik. The view is just incredible: the mountain rim of the Icelandic Southern Highlands to the north and the country’s largest agricultural area to the south.

The cottages are 95 m²  poured concrete and wood structures that each can sleep 8 people and is habitable all the year.

Inside, the kitchen, dining area and living room merge together to provide the house guest with views of the scenic landscape in all directions.
Building materials are locally sourced and natural. The concrete and timber construction is untreated on the outside, leaving that naturally degrade over time, and the roofs have been planted with the local flora.

All furniture and fixtures are either specially designed or selected by Arkibullan Architects.

Le case vacanza Brekkuskógur progettate da Arkibullan Architects, per l'associazione accademica Islandese BHM si trovano a 90 minuti di auto da Reykjavik. La vista dall'edificio è incredibile: la catena montuosa Southern Highlands a nord e la più grande area agricola del Paese a sud.

Le unità abitative, realizzate in calcestruzzo e legno, con 95 m² di superficie possono ospitare 8 persone ciascuna e sono abitabili tutto l'anno.

All'interno dell'edificio, la cucina, zona pranzo e soggiorno si fondono insieme per fornire all'ospite una vista scenica qualunque sia la direzione di visuale dell'osservatore.

I materiali da costruzione sono di provenienza locale e naturale. Gli elementi costruttivi in calcestruzzo e quelli in legno che si trovano all'esterno non sono trattati, lasciando che il rivestimento in larice si degradi naturalmente col tempo. Il tetto giardino è realizzato con la flora locale

Tutti i mobili e infissi sono o appositamente progettati o selezionati da Arkibullan Architects.
